The second law of thermodynamics essentially implies that things tend to deteriorate over time if left isolated from external influences. This applies to everything, including our bodies, homes, cars, and even marriages.
Also, our spiritual lives are no exception to this rule. We must not settle for stale spiritual experiences but instead crave fresh and new ones. If we wouldn't feed our bodies stale or old food for the sake of our physical health, then why should we be comfortable feeding on stale spiritual experiences for our spiritual health? For instance, most of us would love to have a fresh and piping hot pizza, but we wouldn't eat the same pizza served to us 60 days later.
Let’s not rely on that touch from last month to take us through today. Let’s ask God for fresh oil today.
